This message is from Lou Curran, a gentleman who came by our
house doing fundraising for the AIDS organization HERO.
He passed on these memories of his time at 3036 Guilford
back in the early to mid seventies.

(By the way, the Meekins (Al and Sally) were the residents of our
house, 3040 Guilford, prior to 1990 or so.)

Hey hey Emil - - - Thanks - - it was a pleasure to visit the old haunt
again... many a fond memory of life at T.House, much of it divided
between studying and cramming for exams and partying... 3036 was the
semi-official address of Maryland NORML from 1975-79 (officially it
was a P.O. Box). Beyond that semi-successful venture, residents got
federal grant funding to open the first drug counselling center in
Hampden (The House Center, Inc.), and otherwise went on to become the
usual JHU grads - doctors, lawyers, one dentist, one computer software
consultant, an enviro engineer, a fencing coach, a stockbroker, a
poet, a marine biologist, a suicide... shades of The Big Chill?
Meanwhile, What - no more B&M Sub-Shop or Andrews Laun-do-mat at the
SE corner of 31st & Guilford? One of the old guys in your basement
was a shortish wrinkly oldster, Nick somethingorother, and then there
was a tall skinny guy... Al & Sally had a son named Randy (I think) -
not sure of what happened to him...
Well, life goes on....... take care
-------------Lou
