Your'e right, Gren. Though I frequently run around the lake throughout the
year each time I reach the eastern end I try to take in the entire (200+
degree) panoramic view.

Here's another location you should visit - Bobbie Jo's Cafe on the top floor
of a highrise at 3838 Roland Avenue in Hampden. Breakfast w/ coffee is less
than $5, but I tend to spend more time looking out the windows then I do at
my table. The view is MAGNIFICENT!

The pavement on the south side of Druid Lake (adjacent to the westbound land
of Druid Lake Drive) has been replaced with an asphalt path that is an
average
of about 8 feet wide. Construction is still underway, but the completion of
the path represents a major improvement. Previously the sidewalk was so
narrow
that runners and walkers had to step out into the
street to complete laps around the lake. Eventually the path will connect
with the Jones Falls Trail.
For a nice winter evening walk consider following Wyman Park Drive to the
light at Keswick Road, then continue past the Stieff Building and across the
Cedar Avenue Bridge into Druid Hill Park. The lake itself is a little more
than a
mile from the
BMA. A walk around the lake is about 1 1/2 miles. The view from the base of
the tower at the eastern end of Druid Lake is well worth the effort.
