Live Baltimore Needs Your Help!

  

The Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office is putting on a
national 5-city tour to celebrate and promote National Homeownership Month,
and they have selected Baltimore as the kick-off event City! 

  

This is an exciting event for Baltimore that has the potential to bring a
great deal of national and regional press coverage to Charm City, and Live
Baltimore couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of it! The concept of these
events is to have all of the federal and local housing agencies provide a
one-stop shop to highlight services, programs, and initiatives that these
agencies provide to low-to-moderate income families.  

  

We expect at least 500 attendees and a large number of notable guests,
including National Housing Secretary Alphonso Jackson, other Cabinet
Secretaries from the White House, Mayor Martin O'Malley, Governor Robert
Ehrlich and/or Lt. Governor Michael Steele, Senator Barbara Mikulski and
Senator Ben Cardin.  

  

This is a very large, national-scale event; we need many volunteers to make
it happen! The fair is on Wednesday, June 1st from 3pm-8pm at the War
Memorial (101 N. Gay Street), but we'll need help as early as setting up the
day before, all day the day of the event, into the evening, as well as
break-down the next morning. We will provide food for all of our hardworking
volunteers! 

  

If you can help on May 31st, June 1st, or June 2nd, please email or call
Mary Alice immediately (myeskey at livebaltimore.com or 410-637-3750) and be
sure to include your full name, email address, phone number, and what exact
time you are available to help out. We are especially looking for
Spanish-speaking volunteers! If you are fluent in Spanish, please let us
know.
