Dear Christine,
Please be sure to post our answer to you on the lists as we are not members
and the members of those lists need to know the truth.
The new traffic light that Peabody Heights Alliance was successful in
convincing the City to put into place is on 32nd and CALVERT ST. , not St.
Paul St.
Ms. Sparks did not properly read the information posted.
Thanks,
Pamela Wilson

I am maybe seeing the glass as half empty, but this is sad.
It was okay to have pedestraians run down, and car wreck after car
wreck at these intersections all these years......

Here is some really good news. I believe that AIA has also asked for
a
light there, although it is just outside the boundaries of AIA.
Thanks
to Pam Wilson and John Houston and to all others who have worked to
get
a very much needed traffic signal there.
I am sure that several serious accidents now will not happen at that
intersection. And with the pedestrian lighting now being installed
that
AIA has worked to get on 32nd, it will now be much safer to walk on
32nd
between St. Paul and Greenmount.
Steve.

advised
that the City of Baltimore, in answer to our requests for a traffic
light at
the corner of Calvert and 32nd Street, conducted a survey and found
that
this intersection warrants a traffic signal. The installation of the
signal
should be completed by October, 2007. John Houston, resident of the
3200
block of N. Calvert Street and community activist, had requested
Peabody
Heights Alliance to address this matter as he had long had concerns
about
safety for the community at this location. We are pleased to announce
the
results of this successful endeavor.
