Apologies for Cross-Postings.

To subscribers of H-Maryland:

I'm working on getting a panel together for the symposium next April
related to the 1968 riots in Baltimore. The panel will be primarily
about archival documentation, both inside and outside traditional
repositories. I am hoping to present information about existing
documentation of the riots and their aftermath in a forum that will
generate discussion about archival documentation, collection,
preservation, and access using this important, recent event as a case
study.

I am just now beginning to try to get a sense of the "documentary
universe" related to these events of 1968, and I am writing to ask
your help. At this point, I am aware of the news film and oral
history documentation at the University of Baltimore, but little else.

If you have or know of collections that document some aspect of the
riots and their aftermath could you let me know? As I said, I'm
interested in collections inside and outside of repositories.

I was to stress that I am not, nor do I plan to, solicit anyone's
collections for donation; I only want to know about them and view them
if possible.

Thanks so much in advance,
Megan McShea
