<P>Below are some upcoming events at the VLP (Village Learning Place on St. Paul Street, north of 25th). I want to highlight their wonderful computer lab, where I used to volunteer. While it has limited hours, it is FREE to use. It's a great resource for the community.</P>

<P>The Village Learning Place is preparing several exciting events for the upcoming <BR>month, in addition to continual offerings like free computer access. Here's <BR>what's going on for the month of April:<BR><BR>SPRING BOOK SALE<BR>The Village Learning Place the second Annual Spring Book Sale on April 22 and <BR>23rd at the Village Learning Place Library (outside, weather permitting). Book <BR>prices are 5 for $1 for paperbacks and $.50 for hardcovers. Last year the <BR>spring book sale was a huge success, both for the organization and everyone who <BR>purchased books. The book sale will feature everything from hard-to-find <BR>quality children's books to photography hardcovers in excellent condition.<BR>For more information on the book sale, please contact Delores Lee at <BR>410-235-2210, ext. 0<BR><BR>FAMILY ADVENTURES WITH LITERATURE<BR>April 20, 4:45 - 6pm<BR>April is National Library Week so this month's theme is Librarians in <BR>Literature. The VLP staff will each dress up as a famous librarian from a <BR>favorite book. It will be a great time to sign up for a library card or to take <BR>out some books if you already have a card. As always, Family Adventures with <BR>Literature features light refreshments, story time, and craft activities for <BR>families.<BR>Contact Becky for more information at 410-235-2210, ext. 206.<BR><BR>JHU SPRING FAIR<BR>For the first time, the Village Learning Place will be a part of Johns Hopkins <BR>Spring fair. Look for the VLP table, which will feature a book sale. It's <BR>another opportunity to find some great deals on books. Once again, book prices <BR>are 5 for $1 for paperback, 2 for $1 for hardcover.<BR><BR>MONEYWISE<BR>April 12, 5:30 PM<BR>Orientation for Moneywi$e is Tuesday evening, April 12 with dinner served at <BR>5:00. The Moneywi$e program begins April 19 and runs until May 17th. <BR>Registration is required.<BR>Visit the VLP library or call Tonya at 410-235-2210, ext 204 for more <BR>information.<BR><BR>SUPPORT FOR THE STADIUM PLACE PLAYGROUND<BR>The Village Learning Place is proud to support the Stadium Place Playground <BR>project. The project was initiated because the areas 3000+ children do not have <BR>an adequate place to play. The new playground at the site of the old Memorial <BR>Stadium on 33rd Street will serve as a safe place for families to spend time <BR>outdoors. This week and next, volunteers will begin actually building the <BR>playground; the first building day is April 7. The first Garden Clean Up <BR>will be April 23rd, from 10 to 1 pm. After the April date, Garden Days will <BR>be the fourth Saturday of every month.
