I just want to point out that planning an event for National Night Out is a piece of cake! Last year Joel and I put out a grill at the corner of 31st and Guilford, asked some neighbors to bring drinks, side dishes, condiments, plates, etc., and we had a great showing. We also passed out flyers with the help of neighbors the day before to give people a heads up.

If you have a grill, why not set it up at your nearest corner? For this type of an event, all you need to do is provide food. People seem to congregate where there's free food. :) If you want to plan something more elaborate, go for it, but it's not a complicated event to do.

As I mentioned in an earlier e-mail, Joel and I are moving next week. Otherwise, we'd plan an event on our block.

Good luck!
Sarah
