<P align=left>Join the Middle Branch Cleanup Event - Saturday, September 17</P>

<P align=left>The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods, the Baltimore City
Departments of Public Works and Recreation and</P>
<P align=left>Parks, the Parks and People Foundation and volunteers from local
businesses, community associations and</P>
<P align=left>environmental groups will all come together on Saturday, September
17, 2005 for a massive one-day</P>
<P align=left>cleaning of the shores of the Middle Branch waterway in South
Baltimore.</P>
<P align=left>On that day, volunteers will assemble at 9:00 a.m. at the
Baltimore Rowing Club, located at 3301 Waterview</P>
<P align=left>Avenue and will work side-by-side to remove trash and debris from
eight (8) miles of Middle Branch shoreline.</P>
<P align=left>The clean-up will end at 4:00 p.m. Public Works will provide
volunteers with rakes, bags, gloves and shovels</P>
<P align=left>and be responsible for debris removal.</P>
<P align=left>The area to be cleaned begins near the train tracks that run
across the middle of the waterway and stretches</P>
<P align=left>around the shoreline from the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Bridge to
Harbor Hospital and the Baltimore</P>
<P align=left>Rowing Club, extending along the western shoreline adjacent to
Kloman Street.</P>
<P align=left>During the last Middle Branch shoreline cleanup in 2002, nearly
500 volunteers from over 30 businesses,</P>
<P align=left>community organizations and environmental groups removed 100 tons
of trash and debris in that one-day</P>
<P align=left>cleaning effort.</P>
