<DIV>Tweefie posted a note stating correctly that I am leaving CV, but I want to add that it is not solely because of the criminal element. For me, it's just time to move on. I'm not really an urban person and never planned on settling in an inner-city area. Also, my mortgage is really expensive now because I had to repurchase the house and rehab the whole thing. So I'm using my equity to buy a less expensive house in Lauraville, in a quieter setting with a larger yard. And everyone on the 2700 block of Guilford is young now except for 3 or 4 of us, and I presume more young people will move in. I'd like to think that I didn't live in a student hostel.</DIV>

<DIV>I'll miss a lot about CV--the people, running into folks at Donna's and Eddie's, the 26ers community garden, talking about rehabbing with other rehabbers and complaining about contractors, the Spaghetti Disco, Chris Jensen's ads in the Villager. And of course my garden, where I learned to grow things--I hope the new owners do something nice with it. And finally I am amazed that I actually rehabbed a house--it's not something I ever thought I would do, and it was a real learning experience. I will never fear taking care of a house again. The first thing I plan to do in my new house, for instance, is tear down two walls, followed by ripping up some wall to wall, followed by steaming off the wallpaper and painting the entire place. And this house is in good condition!</DIV>

<DIV>Drive by next week (when the painters will be done) and have a look at 2730 Guilford--it looks grand from the outside with its new steps and paint. The broker's open is October 12, and we'll probably have an open house the following Sunday.</DIV>
