It does not make me feel good to think this way, but some of us, myself
included, may have to lower our threshold on what constitutes a
suspicious situation that should be called in to 911.<br>
<br>
As you say though, it is fortunate that nobody was hurt and that what
was taken can be replaced. We have had too much violence in our
neighborhood.<br>
<br>
My downstairs windows have bars over them, and in some respects, I live
in a prison. But there are too many good things about Charles Village
for me to consider moving elsewhere.<br>

<pre wrap="">I hate to report this, but add to that list the break in at my house. Someone cut the screen of our front window, climbed in, came into our kitchen and took a wallet, two cell phones and our house and car keys. Our next door neighbor (JHU student) saw a strange man sitting with his back to our front door at 1 am and didn't call the police. He felt so bad when he learned of the breakin. After learning that our cell phones were stolen, I called one of them and some thug sounding guy answered! The suspect was wearing a red basketball jersey. The thief tossed my keys. They had a YWCA membership tag and some kind person took them to the Y, which called me. We feel lucky that no one was hurt and that we lost replaceable items. Dawna

Some of these are from two or so weeks ago. Christine Gray
Unarmed Robbery-3117 St. Paul St.-On June 30th at 2:36 AM, a non-affiliate
reports an unknown male approached him demanding his wallet. The unknown
male then reached into the victim's pants pocket and removed his wallet,
punched him in the face, and then fled east into the alley. BPD responded.
Investigation continuing.
Auto Theft - 200 Blk. E. 28th St. - Between June 13th at 7:00 PM and June
18th at 3:34 PM, a vehicle was stolen. Baltimore Police responded. Campus
Security searched the area with negative results.
Common Assault / Domestic - 2938 St. Paul St. (Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Fraternity) - On June 17th at 1:31 AM, a non-affiliated female reported that
her non-affiliated boyfriend, who was contracted to do work at the location,
had assaulted her. Baltimore Police responded and medical treatment was
declined. Investigation continuing.
Burglary-3035 St. Paul Street -Between June 18th, 10:00 PM and June 19th
10:00 AM an undergrad student reports a laptop computer was taken from a
secure apartment. Signs of forced entry were apparent. Baltimore City
Police responded. Investigation continuing.
Theft-3107 St. Paul Street (Charles Village Pub)-On June 20th at 12:30 AM,
an undergrad student reports while dining at CVP an unknown male took her
purse that was sitting next to her on an empty chair. The student chased the
suspect from the establishment who subsequently discarded the purse. The
student was able to recover the purse with all its contents. No injuries.
Baltimore City Police responded. Investigation continuing.
