I really appreciate your patience as= I have been working with Mary Pat Clarke to try and resolve our issues with the Parking Authority and with Parking Enforcement officials. Here is the update: 1) Community-based distribution of parking permits (aka Community Pick-Up) has been rescheduled for SATURDAY NOVEMBER 21st. I am still working to confirm the locations and times. When locations and times are confirmed, I will send another email notice and will also post notices on local bulletin boards including the bulletin boards at Eddie=E2=80=99s Mar= ket, Video Americain and the kiosk at the Abell Open Space. The hours will most likel= y be from 9am to 4pm. I just have to confirm with the Farmers Market and Eddies Market that we can still use their space for distribution. 2) The expiration date of all current Area 12 permits has been extend= ed to November 30th. This means that if you have a current permit (ie. a permit that was set to expire on Oct. 31), you will not be issued a citati= on as long as you are not in violation of any other parking restrictions. Th= is is not a =E2=80=9Cfree pass=E2=80=9D to park at meters or meter box spaces= or park in any =E2=80=9CNo Parking=E2=80=9D or =E2=80=9CNo Stopping=E2=80=9D zones in the= neighborhood. If you violate any other parking restrictions in the neighborhood, you can still be subject= to a citation. 3) I have met face to face with officials from the Parking Authority and from Parking Enforcement to ensure that permit expiration is extended and that Parking Enforcement staff WILL NOT issue citations to cars with current permits through the month of November. IF, for some reason, you do receive a citation for having an expired permit, send an email ASAP to Lt. Yolanda Cason from Parking Enforcement. Her email address is yolanda.cason@baltimorecity.gov . Lt. Cason has a process to abate tickets that are issued in error. 4) If you wish, you can pick up your Area 12 permit between now and November 21st by visiting the Parking Authority=E2=80=99s office at 200 W.= Lombard Street. You will have to present all appropriate documentation to Parking Authority staff to obtain your permit. You can park in the parking garage above their offices and get your parking validated by Parking Authority staff.
