police to follow up after they talked to the owner, and animal control as their
first visit to the house. The attacking dog is currently still at home in
the block, so please don’t walk your dog or have young children taken down
that block. Animal Control photographed the dog, and will request a
hearing once the police report is finalized and available. We’ll certainly
follow up on both aspects. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

badly. The vet said he is lucky to be alive, and Greg was not seriously injured
himself. However, we will be pursuing this matter legally once all of the

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Chat List. I am sorry that
you were attacked by a pit bull two months ago but I am glad to hear that the
Northern District responded timely and in a manner that resulted in a proper
resolution.<br>

In response to your complaint about Animal Control, the CVCA Safety Committee
will take this matter under advisement, and will discuss the scheduling of a
meeting between interested residents, Animal Control, Northern District Police,
and CVCBD Safety Staff, about how dog attack incidents are handled and whether
any improvements are necessary. We will notify the residents when the
meeting date is set.<br>

My dog and I were attacked by a pit bull in the alley between Maryland Ave and
Howard St. approximately two months ago. I had to nearly beat the life
out of the pit bull in order to get it to let go of my dog. In the
process I seriously cut up my hands and broke my foot. I held the pit
bull by the throat while my wife called animal control. Animal control
responded by saying that they would dispatch an officer immediately, and we
could expect them within 72 HOURS! Needless to say, we then called
police, and they showed up and dealt with the situation. I provided all
of my information and obtained a police report. I was told that animal
control would contact me within 24 hours. I never heard from animal control,
and had to verify the rabies vaccinations of the pit bull on my own.
Luckily, the pit bull's owner was found, and I was able to obtain the
vaccination records. My personal experience has been that Baltimore City
Animal Control is worthless.<br>

My happy ending is that my dog has fully recovered.<br>
