What it is saying in a nutshell is that we should put out our trash
tomorrow in front of our houses.<br>
<br>
We will see whether this is still in effect for Thursday's recycling
collection.<br>
<br>
A quick look at a few alleys tells me that some are not yet clear
enough for trash trucks, so I personally agree with the decision by the
DPW simply to ask residents to put trash out in front. Also, I have
seen bags of trash left from last week. Please move them to where they
will be picked up, and in the future, please use trash cans with lids.
And I have seen recycling in plastic bags. Although the City has been
picking those up, they require more work for the City to process.
Please use paper bags, cardboard cartons or recycling bins (and you may
use a regular trash can if it is labeled as recycling).<br>

Also, when it is windy, try to see to it that your recycling will not
be picked up by the wind, perhaps by putting cans and bottles on top of
the paper.<br>

<p><strong>TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Citizens with alley collection should place their trash and
recycling materials out in front of their homes for pick up.</li>
<li>Citizens should ONLY put out trash OR recycling on their
regularly scheduled collection day.</li>
<li>Please make sure your sidewalks are CLEAR OF SNOW AND ICE so we
can collect your trash and recycling.</li>
<li>Call 311 for missed pick-ups; please leave your materials in
place until they are collected.</li>
<li>DO NOT PUT RECYCLING MATERIALS IN PLASTIC BAGS!</li>
<li>The Bureau will continue to collect from the front of homes
until full access to regular collection locations is possible.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>CITIZEN DROP-OFF CENTERS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Citizen Drop-Off Centers remain open to the public at their
regularly scheduled times. Citizens can go to <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.baltimorecity.gov">www.baltimorecity.gov</a> or
<a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.cleanergreenerbaltimore.com">www.cleanergreenerbaltimore.com</a> to find their nearest drop-off center.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>BULK TRASH COLLECTIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bulk Trash pick up is CANCELLED through February 26, 2010.</li>
</ul>
<p>UPDATES:</p>
<ul>
<li>Citizens should continue to listen to and read local media for
the latest updates and instructions.</li>
</ul>
<p>Most importantly, we thank Baltimore City’s citizens for their
patience and perseverance as we work together to meet the challenges
presented by these recent storm events.</p>
