From what I am reading, the largest earthquake centered when this
one was centered was a 4.8 in 1875. This one was a 5.9, i.e. about
12 times as large (the Richter scale is logarithmic based on common
i.e. base 10 logarithms, for anyone who wants to know how I made the
calculation). So I take seriously the advice that a bigger shock
may occur later, although probably that will not happen. Be
prepared!<br>
