The note copied below is from Adam, one of the
ultra-positive people that I met briefly during last
year's Benefits District petitioning. His "Buy a
Block" idea has been noted in the City Paper and the
Sun, but you'll probably notice that the particular
Block is not mentioned in the info below or on the
website. It hasn't been disclosed yet because they
don't want prices to go up unreasonably.

Also, there's a link buried in the first paragraph of
Adam's website about a BBQ on Sept. 10th held by the
folks who built the Police Substation at 1708 Madison.
I think the BBQ is a fundraiser, but they don't
actually say so.

Friends and Citizens of the Baltimore area,

Today TechBalt.com has three large announcements that
we want to share with you. Here is a quick summary of
every one. Below is a larger explanation of each
point.

1. We will be on WAMU FM in DC tomorrow.
http://www.wamu.org/mc/index.html

2. We now have four TechBalt.com members with houses
or signed contracts for houses on our Block! One of
those four is me (Adam Meister).

3. We have our 2003 Baltimore City Democratic Primary
Endorsements live at:
http://members.aol.com/belmont111/endorse.html

1. Two weeks ago a reporter for WAMU 88.5 in DC came
up and interviewed me and drove around Baltimore with
me. He put together a 12-15 minute piece about
TechBalt.com that all of you can listen to at 1:00-
2:00 PM Eastern time on Friday at:
http://www.wamu.org/mc/index.html by clicking on the
"Listen Live!" option.
The show will end up archived at this site so you can
listen to it any time after it airs also.
If you are in Maryland, Virginia or DC you can listen
at 88.5 FM at 1:00. The name of the show is Metro
Connection. If you are one of my West Coast friends
you can listen again at 2 AM Pacific time on Saturday
Morning over the Internet.

2. Last week I finally signed a contract for my house
on the block. We should close on November 1. I will
move in at that time. Many people were wondering when
I would get a house. Since I am the leader of the
group this development should give members who are on
the fence some assurance that this project is one that
they should be a part of. We have about six other
people who are in various stages of negotiations,
making calls, and research concerning other houses on
the block. We still need more people though. So if you
have been sitting on the fence now is your chance!
Email me.

3. There is a huge Democratic Primary coming up in
Baltimore. A few months ago I met with my friend Bill
Henry who is running for the 4th district council
seat. It was at that point I realized that
TechBalt.com would have to do its part in getting
candidates like Bill elected. So today after a lot of
research and emailing we have come out with our
endorsements at:
http://members.aol.com/belmont111/endorse.html
We feel the candidates that we selected will best
serve Baltimore and create an environment where
TechBalt.com can succeed.

4. If you made it this far you deserve this bonus bit
of information. We are in preliminary talks with
people in Detroit about setting up a "Buy a Block"
movement there.

Thanks for reading. Spread the word about
www.TechBalt.com !
