It looks like the real deal. I just visited the website NewWindEnergy.com,
and their electricity is cheaper than BGE's: $2.50 per 100 kWh from wind, versus
$3.84 per 100 kWh from BGE. I'm thinking about trying this out, just
to see if it actually works for residential customers. If I do, I'll let
you know.

Dear CCANers: This latest traffic on solar power, windpower and other
renewables (including the latest email on the micro-turbine company, Bergey) is
REALLY encouraging. While I am reluctant to use the good offices of the group for
commercial purposes, I want to "move the market" (for renewables, especially
wind power) forward, the "old fashioned way" one customer at a time. Please know
that Community Energy, which my partners and I represent in the Baltimore and
DC areas, (the Mid-Atlantic) is ready, willing and able, to meet with any
business or organization that wants to explore Community Energy's product,
www.NewWindEnergy.com for even a small % wind purchase. We are very anxious (let's
say "excited") to see the City of Baltimore, JHU, GW, and Georgetown and the US
Navy (the USNA at Annapolis and Bethesda Naval Med. are high targets) join
so many others that have taken the bold step to "back down coal." In addition
over 10,000 residential customers are now on board, and the US Congress is
close to closing on a deal to buy our locally produced wind. Kudos to all of you.
Let us know whenever you want Byron Woodman, or my partners Andrea or Michael
and me to stand and deliver to help tell our neighbors and friends that wind
power is ready here and now. A special thanks to Dr. Cindy Parker and to Mr.
Tidwell for their indefatiguable efforts to improve the climate in our region.
Very sincerely, George
PS: Congratulations to the Dutch Embassy for being the first in DC to buy
pure, endless power in the form of New Wind Energy!
