Did you know that the VLP has an open computer lab?  I volunteer there
every Monday and Wednesday.   If you or any of your friends need to
access a computer for free (you need to have a VLP membership card),
this is a great community resource.  Open hours are Mondays 10:00am to
noon, Wednesdays 10:00am to noon and 5:30pm to 8:00, and Thursdays
5:30pm to 8:00.
 
Here are some upcoming events at the VLP:
 
LOCAL AUTHOR BOOKSIGNING & READING ~ Saturday, April 24th from 11am-1pm
 
The VLP library staff is hosting 9 local authors for a book signing and
reading to celebrate National Library Week!  Join us on Saturday, April
24th to meet critically acclaimed writers who choose Maryland as home,
and discuss their work.  The event will showcase the creative talents of
Dan Cuddy, Tristan Davies, Camay Calloway Murphy, Collen Dixon, Dan
Fesperman, Herbert Harwood, Rafael Alvarez, Jason Tinney, and David
Bergman.  A portion of the book sales will benefit the VLP library.  
 
FLEA MARKET IN THE SAFEWAY PARKING LOT~ Saturday, May 1 from 8am-Noon
 
100 spaces are available for a community flea market on Saturday, May
1st in the Safeway Parking Lot.  Time: 8am-Noon.  2401 North Charles
Street.  Cost:  $10 per space.  Proceeds benefit the Village Learning
Place.  Purchase a space at the Safeway Customer Service counter.
