>From the Baltimore City website:

Following closely on the heels of Super Spring Sweep
Thing 5 held on April 17, Department of Public Works
Director George L. Winfield announced yet another
opportunity for continued cleaning. On Saturday and
Sunday, April 24th and 25th, residents can rid their
homes, basements and garages of hazardous household
materials by dropping them off at the Poly-Western
High School parking lot, located at Falls Road and
Cold Spring Lane. Citizens can also drop off unwanted
and obsolete electronic items for E-cycling at the
same time. All items will be collected from 9:00 a.m.
until 3:00 p.m. on April 24, and from 11:00 a.m. until
3:00 p.m. on April 25.

This semiannual event provides an excellent
opportunity to properly dispose of such material as
bleach, pesticides, herbicides, car and household
batteries, drain cleaner, gasoline, pool chemicals and
many other items. On April 24 and 25th, in conjunction
with the Maryland Department of the Environment,
electronic items such as printers, scanners, monitors
and televisions will also be accepted.

Citizens should note that these materials must be
brought to the Poly-Western location and will not be
collected from your home. Proof of City residency is
required to drop off material. For additional
information or to find out more about proper disposal
of your household hazardous waste or electronic items,
please call 311.
