Proudly presents

Jaqui MacMillan's DRUM FOR JOY!!! (six week class series)

Jaqui MacMillan's six-week Drum For Joy class series is starting on Monday nights beginning April 4, 2005, (April 4, 11, 18, May 2, 9, 16). Classes run from 7:30 to 9:00 PM and are held at the St. John's Church of Hamilton located at 5315 Harford Road (on the corner of Harford and Gibbons St., across from Dunkin Donuts, one block North of Echodale) in North-East Baltimore.

Jaqui specializes in teaching West African Hand drums like djembés, ashikos and bougarabous. Her Drum For Joy classes combine polyrhythmic compositions and folksongs from a variety of cultures, making a fun and dynamic learning experience for beginners and intermediate players alike. These beginning classes will cover basic hand drum technique, learning how to make your drum sing, building and playing a drum composition in all it's parts, (rhythms, breaks, solos and vocals), and the joy of drumming in a group! All levels and ages welcome.

The six-week class series costs only $120.00. If you would like to pre-register for this class series, please send a check, made payable to BIRDS, along with all of your contact information written on a separate piece of paper (name, address, phone numbers, email, etc.) to:
