HEALTHY AIR FOR MARYLAND

Baltimore Town Hall Meeting

Thursday, December 1st, 7:00 pm

Air pollution in Maryland causes severe health and environmental problems:

Mercury: A shocking one in six women of childbearing age have mercury in
their blood at levels high enough to cause permanent damage to their
children.

Global Warming: The communities near Maryland’s 3,100 miles of coastline
will be severely impacted by rising sea levels and increased storms.

Dead Zone: Air pollution contributes more than a quarter of the nitrogen
responsible for the dead zone in the Chesapeake Bay.

Smog and Soot: Even after new federal standards are in place, Maryland will
not meet EPA standards for healthy air.

Come learn about the impacts of air pollution and find out what is happening
to clean up the air.
