Hi, Marianne --

You can save yourself a lot of money by doing a little web research.  There 
are many effective treatments out there (sugar-water & borax baits, 
diatemaceous earth across paths), and a lot of them fairly low on the 
toxicity scale.  For example, if you're lucky enough to know where the nest 
is outside, you can pour boiling water over it.  A lot of folks who mix up a 
Borax bait say that they can see a significant change in a day.

(The product that Dawna is talking about is probably Terro -- which, I 
*think* is pretty much syrup and borox.)
