Despite what it says in the DPW calendar, trash apparently will be
picked up this Friday, July 3. But most other trash/recycling
operations will be closed that day.

There will be no trash or recycling pickups on Monday, July 13, and One
Plus One will begin on July 14. Starting that week, those of us in
Charles Village north of 25th including the north side of 25th will have
trash pickup Tuesday, 7/14 and subsequent Tuesdays and recycling pickup
Thursday, 7/16 and subsequent Thursdays. That includes all of Abell.
If you are east of Greenmount or south of 25th, use the link below to
learn your days.

As originally planned, the two sides of Greenmount below 33rd will have
different trash and recycling days from each other under One Plus One.
Mary Pat Clarke is seeking to change that within Waverly Main Street to
make both sides of Greenmount have the same days. Previously, the two
sides of Greenmount had different trash collection days, and a change
was made to make them the same.

A map of the trash and recycling days citywide starting July 14 is:
http://www.cleanergreenerbaltimore.org/uploads/files/web_map_districts.pdf

Under One Plus One, each house will be allowed 96 gallons of trash per
week, unlimited recycling, and unlimited yard waste in clear or labeled
plastic bags (put out on the trash day). Trash must be in covered trash
cans. It may not be in a plastic bag unless that bag is inside a
covered trash can. Recycling may be in the yellow containers
distributed by the City, by CVCBD and by several hardware stores, or it
may be in paper bags or in cardboard cartons, or it may be paper that
has been tied up. Recycling should not be in plastic bags.

The City says that it is planning enforcement of the requirement trash
be in a proper container. Don't get fined!

Steve.
