[Chat] insulating tin box bumpouts?

would you please describe what a tin box bumpout is.  I've lived around here for a total ofs 30 years and have never heard that phrase.

Hi - Just wondering if anyone has tried (and had any success) with insulating the tin box bumpouts on these ol' houses. We have two in our room and you can literally feel the cold air drafting in. We have a couple rough ideas for how to improve this, but I'm just curious if there are any good ideas out there.
