Charles Village Tree Stewards need help this weekend to open and enlarge tree wells.

Saturday May 25 at 10:00 AM volunteers will assemble at the corner of Whitridge and Barclay Streets where Peter is bringing the saw and demolition hammers.   The first wells will be cut in the 400 block of Whitridge.   Then the cutting moves to 29th Street at N. Calvert Street.   Then there is one well in each of the 2800 and 2900 blocks of Guilford Ave.   Then there are two large new wells planned for the 3200 block of Barclay Street across from the Farmer’s Market.

You can call Peter Duval (contact information is at the top of page) on Saturday and Sunday to locate the team.   The likely muster location for Sunday May 26 is 10:00am at the corner of Guilford Avenue and 29th Street.

Tasks include sawing, operating the demolition hammer, moving broken concrete out of the wells, topping up wells, sweeping up, loading and moving equipment, and other jobs.   Some; but not all of these tasks require a strong back.   If you bring work gloves, safety glasses or goggles, ear plugs, or a shovel, that will help ensure there are enough to go around.    The more who help, the better we can share the work load.

Tell others who may help.   Please reply to quad4 at charlesvillage.org and to pwduvall at yahoo.com to let us know if and when you can help.
