[Chat] Yard Waste Bags not picked up

All trash (pretty much) goes to BRESCO. it's burned and used to generate
electricity and steam heat. Not a loss, but composting would put yard waste
to a higher use.

Does anyone know what happens to the yard waste? Does it get composted or
just thrown into a landfill somewhere?

I just started gardening and I'm looking for a way to get rid of yard waste
without adding to a landfill. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thx,

Didon

1. Call 311 and get a complaint number,

2. Email that complaint number, your address and date of missed pickup to

Valentina.Ukwuoma at baltimorecity.gov and matt at charlesvillage.org,

3. They will pickup the missed bags within the hour and you will get a
phone message and info tag from Rachim Brunson or L. Short, solid
waste/trash supervisor, whose phone number is 410-396-3367.

Tuesday we put out some tall yard waste bags from Ace Hardware in the alley
with our trash can. The sanitation workers fairly meticulously picked up
and emptied our trash can (it was actually behind the yard waste) without
taking the yard waste bags. As far as I can remember they've always taken
yard waste in the past -- are we supposed to be doing something special with
these?

I don't know, but they left our yard waste too, which had never been a
problem before.

I've been very pleased with the response to and tracking of complaints using
the 311 mobile app.
