[Chat] Internet TV service Aereo to launch in Baltimore

I registered on this site several months ago but I haven't heard anything.

A challenge to this approach is, ironically, the electricity cost. There
was an article in the WSJ several weeks back. The way it works every
subscriber essentially gets their own antenna/tv card on the host server.
While each one of these chips might only take a 1/2 a watt... multiply
that by hundreds of thousands of subscribers and the electric bill alone
for this service could become quite crippling. Interesting idea though and
I too look for a time when there won't be the cable monopoly.

best, Chad
