Hi folks,

I've got a bunch of stuff to forward on to you today:

SAFETY

First of all, car break-ins are way up in the district. We've been getting
phone calls and Bob and Wes are compiling statistics to present to the
police for added partolling. There has been at least a 50% increase in the
area since the spring. Be sure to park in well-lit areas and take everything
out of your car. After I was broken into I took everything out of my glove
box and left it open at night so folks could see there was nothing of
interest in my car.

Also, there was a stabbing in Harwood this week, in the 400 block of
Whitridge. It occurred in the early morning hours of the 18th. It was a
double stabbing, and there was one fatality. No other information is known
at this time. I am not sure if it was in a house or on the street.

Each month the Northern Police District has an open meeting where the public
can come to voice concerns. These occur every third Wednesday from 7-9pm.
The next one is coming up tonight, at 7pm at 2201 W. Coldspring Lane (just
west of I83). They will be reviewing the strategic plan.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Trash will be picked up early this week due to the heat. They will start
their pick up at 6:00am. Please have your trash out by 5:00am, or the night
before with a tight-fitting lid on your can.
--------------------------------------------------------
I have a gift for each of you. Those of you who made the meeting received
mugs printed with the CVCBD logo and a message of gratitude. These mugs are
yours, and I would love it if you would come by the office to pick them up.
I will deliver them to you if you can give me a time when you will be home.
I can not leave them on porches- they will get stolen. These mugs were
created using the grant that I was given from Baltimore Neighborhoods, Inc.
This grant had to be used to recongize area volunteers, and they are being
given to block leaders, association officers and other active residents in
the benefits district. Please understand that this money was extra and had
to be used for this purpose. Nothing was taken from the block leader program
or any other program to create these mugs. I would love for each of you to
have one to commemorate your service in the community. Come by the office or
let me know when I can stop by to visit you.

If you have not given me your hours please do so immediately.

Thank you!
