Hello Emil:
John Spurrier suggested I contact you. If you think it is appropriate,
would you please forward the message below to the Charles Village list.
Rosie, age 25, grew up and still lives on 25th Street.

Thanks,
Jane Shipley

On Friday, December 5th, fiddler Rosie Shipley and singer-guitarist Lisa
Moscatiello will release their CD, Well Kept Secrets, a collection of fiddle
tunes and ballads from Ireland, Scotland, and North America. The concert
will take place at The Cellar Stage at St. John's Church, 5315 Harford Road,
Baltimore at 8:00 P.M. For reservations, call (410) 922-5210 or email
joycesica at aol.com. Admission is $15.

Well Kept Secrets has an intimate, direct sound, inviting listeners to savor
the blend of Shipley's deep, pure fiddle tone and Moscatiello's rich,
sensuous alto voice. Shipley presents compelling interpretations of reels,
slip jigs, and polkas, including a lively set of tunes from Cape Breton
Island. Moscatiello specializes in traditional and contemporary
melody-intensive ballads. Highlights include the ghostly Scots ballad,
"Here's a Health To All True Lovers," and the elegiac antiwar song, "Flowers
of Saskatchewan," by Canada's David Francey.

Rosie Shipley, a native of Baltimore, learned her first Irish tunes at the
age of eight from master fiddler Brendan Mulvihill. When not performing
with Moscatiello, Rosie makes up a third of The Willow Band, an exciting new
group that tours internationally. She has also appeared as guest fiddler
with Cherish the Ladies.

Billboard has characterized Lisa Moscatiello's voice as possessing
"knee-buckling poignancy and believability." The Washington Area Music
Awards has named Lisa "Artist of the Year" several times and honored her CD,
Second Avenue, as "Album of the Year." Lisa spent several years touring
internationally with the New York City-based, Celtic-fusion band Whirligig
and was lead singer for The New St. George.
