Last night I went to a MoveOn House Party for
Fahrenheit 9/11 and had a great time! It's so
encouraging to hear the stories about how people are
reacting to this movie, including standing up at the
end of the movie and calling for a meeting right there
in the theater to figure out how to defeat Bush in
November. Last week various talking heads said that
only people already against Bush would go to the movie
-- yet lots of self-described vote-the-party-line
Republicans saw the movie and came out saying that
they wouldn't vote for Bush again.

One lady at the party that I went to said that her
parents had done the math and figured out that they
could either vote for Bush and endorse his tax plans,
deficit spending, warmongering, etc, or they could
vote for Kerry and have a chance at having a real
prescription drug benefit, reliable social security
benefits, and reliable veteran's benefits for their
son. None of it is guaranteed of course, but at least
there's a chance. So, in the interests of their own
survival, they're not going to vote Republican this
year. Too bad they didn't see it coming in 2000.

Michael Moore talked for along time and one of the
points that he made was that Kerry shouldn't move
toward the right over the next few months. Instead he
should move left to keep his base and get other people
excited about voting for him. If he comes across as
nothing more than "Bush light," who wants to vote for
him? Visit www.michaelmoore.com, www.moveonpac.org and
www.moveon.org for more info.
